In this sub-series, Canada's presence is evident in various spheres of activity (national and international security, economic development, business partnerships, environment, immigration, culture, etc.).
The files document the Operations Unit's preparation and coordination efforts in advance of the Prime Minister's travel activities. In addition to collecting data on the technical aspects of these trips, the sub-sub-series contains considerable information on relations between the Prime Minister's Office, the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and the Department of National Defence (all three of which play a role in Prime Ministerial travel).
Specific topics include official visits by the Right Honourable Jean Chrétien, travel by Madame Aline Chrétien, meetings of international bodies, Team Canada economic missions, and commemorative activities.
