This series concerns the activities of the Office of the Prime Minister - Appointments Unit, and sheds light on its operations and the reasons behind Prime Ministerial appointments. It documents the procedure for appointments, which are likely made by the Governor in Council upon recommendation by the PMO.

More specifically, the files were compiled by Manon Tardif, Senior Advisor (1998-2000) and then Appointments Director (2001-2003); and Nicol MacDonald, Senior Advisor (2001-2003).

Conservation:

The records of this series are in excellent general condition, and robust measures were taken to preserve them: all metal pieces were removed, newspaper clippings were removed and replaced with photocopies, records in a fragile state of preservation were also photocopied, etc. Lastly, records were removed from their original folders and placed in acid-free folders.

The archivist classified the files of this series alphabetically based on file title.
