The description from the 1927 Ontario Motion Picture Bureau catalogue is as follows: "From our northern forestlands, carried in the swift current of rushing rivers come the logs which are prized the world over as fine lumber. [THE DRIVE] abounds in beautiful scenes, and is filled with action, thus making a pleasing picture for the eye as well as an absorbing description of one of Northern Ontario's great industries." After forests have been logged during the winter, the logs are sent down rivers to the mills. The film shows the men who drive the logs downstream. They blast logs free, pole them and rolling on them. There are also scenes of lumberjacks eating and of workers sawing logs into planks in a mill.Language:Silent with English intertitlesNotes:Detailed holdings information: -
