The fonds consists of documents concerning John C. C. Jervis activities as aide-de-camp of Governor General, Lord Willingdon. It contains historical notes, programmes of official visits to Quebec City, Toronto, Washington (United States) and Maritimes provinces, luncheons and dinners lists, daily planner for the year 1927, press clippings concerning Governor General activities and the death and the Jervis funeral), photographs (original and photocopies) and 2 maps.

Jervis, John Cyril Carnegie, 1898-1929 : John Cyril Carnegie Jervis, elder son and heir of Capt. Ronald Clarges Jervis, 6th Viscount St. Vincent, and Marion Annie Broun, of Sutton-on-Derwent, near York (Yorkshire), England, was born 10 July 1898. John C. C. Jervis was educated at Wellington College (Berkshire) and at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (Surrey) in England. Jervis served in the King's Royal Rifle corps in France during the First World War and was badly wounded. After, he recovered, he served in Russia. Captain Jervis came to Canada in 1926 as aide-de-camp (ADC) to Lord Willingdon (Thomas Freeman), Governor General of Canada between 1926 and 1931. As personal assistant and secretary, Jervis participated at ceremonial functions and official visits of the Governor General. In 1928, Jervis joined the aeronautical staff of Canadian Vickers Limited, an aircraft and shipbuilding company founded in 1911, taking charge of publicity at the shipyard in Montreal, manufacturing vessels for the Royal Canadian Navy. John C. C. Jervis died in an aeroplane accident near Montreal 20 June 1929. During a trial flight a new Fokker aeroplane struck electric power wires and crashed into St. Lawrence River. After a funeral at Christ Chruch Cathedral, in Montreal, Jervis was burried in Mount Royal Cemetery. John C. C. Jervis was unmarried at the time of his death.

John C. C. Jervis had one younger brother, Ronald George James Jervis, succeeded as 7th Viscount St.Vincent, and one sister, Ivy Lorna Jervis (Mrs. W. Laurence Whittemore), who was living in New York city with her husband.
