This fonds contains a scrapbook , diary and album (130 b&w photographs, 51 postcards), created by Adelaide Solomon during her 1932 trip to England and France as part of the Overseas Education League. She travelled with her close friend, Mary Stanton (see Mary Stanton fonds).

Solomon, Adelaide : Adelaide Solomon was born in Brighton Ontario in 1899 (died 1993). After graduating from high school, she began working at a Brighton bank, to save up money for her education. She moved to Toronto and began training at Wellesley Hospital, as a nurse.
She took a break from nursing work to participate in the Overseas Education Leauge, along with her close friend, Mary Stanton.
During the summer months of 1932, Adelaide and Mary travelled with a small group of young Canadians through England and France as part of the Overseas Education League.
Upon her return, Adelaide resumed her nursing work, and remained in Toronto until she was 93, at which time she moved back to Brighton, to be near her family.
