Institut national de l'image et du son INIS : Situé à Montréal, Québec, l'Institut national de l'image et du son (INIS) est un centre de formation professionnelle qui propose au milieu du cinéma, de la télévision et des médias interactifs des programmes de formation dont la pédagogie est fondée sur la pratique, la compréhension des réalités professionnelles, le travail en équipe et le développement de la créativité. Sa mission est de contribuer au développement et à la consolidation des milieux professionnels du cinéma, de la télévision et des médias interactifs du Québec et du Canada en mettant à la disposition des individus et des entreprises des programmes de formation qui, tout en favorisant la diversité des contenus, répondent aux exigences et aux transformations des marchés de l'audiovisuel, des communications et du divertissement. Sa vision est de favoriser l'émergence de créateurs de talent et accélérer leur intégration et leur progression dans le monde professionnel en contribuant au développement de leurs compétences, de leur savoir-faire et de leurs aptitudes à concevoir et produire des contenus originaux. L'INIS, organisme sans but lucratif incorporé en juin 1990, est soutenu financièrement par le ministère du Patrimoine canadien, Téléfilm Canada et le ministère de la Culture, des Communications et de la Condition féminine du Québec. En novembre 1990, plus de 65 professionnels de tous les secteurs participent à l'assemblée générale de fondation de l'Institut. En janvier 1996, l'INIS accueille ses premiers étudiants en scénarisation et réalisation dans le cadre d'un programme long de 18 mois abordant le documentaire, la fiction télévisuelle et la fiction cinématographique. En 2003 INIS-Relève, un programme destiné à permettre à des diplômés de l'INIS de vivre une expérience de scénarisation, réalisation et production d'un premier long métrage etait crée. Premier juillet, le film / Moving est le premier projet issu de ce programme. Depuis 1996, l'INIS a produit plus de 225 courts métrages de styles et de genres variés, une soixantaine d'épisodes de séries dramatiques, deux longs métrages distribués en salle, une trentaine de prototypes en médias interactifs et plus d'une trentaine de portraits documentaires réalisés dans le cadre d'échanges internationaux avec d'autres écoles de cinéma et de télévision. L'INIS obtient l'appui de plusieurs organisations publiques et privées dont ses Grands partenaires Technicolor, la Fondation Claude-Jutra de même que l'Union des artistes et l'Alliance québécoise des techniciens de l'image et du son et leurs membres respectifs.
