The series comprises textual records, photographs, and an audio cassette of the Canadian Catholics for Women's Ordination (CCWO), the name of the Catholic Network for Women's Equality before 1989. The textual records include minutes of the first meeting in Toronto in 1981; minutes of other meetings; early membership lists; correspondence of those active in the leadership core group, including Dr. Joyce Kennedy, Anita Birt, and Marta Condolo; bulletins and newsletters; brochures created to promote the movement and its activities; newspaper and other media coverage of its events and demonstrations to raise awareness; and records of the organization of conferences and workshops. There is detailed documentation of the decision in the years 1987 to 1989 to broaden the scope of the movement and adopt a new name to reflect its new mission. This includes ballots surveying the membership on the issue of the new organization, which often contain detailed comments by members, as well the "yes" or "no" vote. Planning for the pivotal 1988 conference is also well documented.

The photographs include three colour snapshots of Joyce Kennedy and the leadership core group, and five b&w prints of a 1983 CCWO demonstration. The audio cassette is a recording of a talk to the Canadian Catholics for Women's Ordination conference, 1988, by Monique Dumais, a theologian at the Université du Québec à Rimouski and founder of the Christian Feminist Collective, "L'autre Parole".
