Description:

A documentary series which tells the stories of First Nations leaders and warriors. Through the use of archival material, dramatic recreations and interviews with decendants the program relates the stories of important First Nation personalities and their people's history with the European settlers.~In this episode, the story of Black Hawk and the Fox and Sauk Nations who unwillingly battled the United States and Illinois governments for the right to stay on their land at the Mississipi and Rock Rivers. In the film, decendants of Balck Hawk journey back to the original village site which is now a golf course on for the PGA golf tour, and recall the stories told by ancestors that tell of the massacre performed by the Illinois militia and United States army. <46mn 45s>
