MacDonald, Tommy Tweed has written a play about a "newly discovered fact" of Sir John's life. It seems that right after the Pacific Scandal defeat, Buckley, Sir John's cab driver and friend, loses his soul to the devil by a trick. He bets the devil in an attempt to regain it, for the devil is a sporting chap. Buckley bets that Sir John will be back in power within five years. The devil laughs sardonically. Sir John finds out and bets his own soul that he will win, and he does win. The devil, having lost, is forbidden by Sir John ever to enter Ottawa again. The devil decides to move to Toronto. <1h>Language:EnglishNotes:Genre:DRAMA -
