This sub-sub-series sheds light on one aspect of the management of the Prime Minister's correspondence. It consists chiefly of correspondence exchanged between various staff members of the Correspondence Unit of the Office of the Prime Minister and heads of administrative and decision-making bodies, and whose main topic is the management of the Prime Minister's correspondence.

Related documents are sometimes attached to this correspondence: correspondence transmittal forms, phone memos, nominal lists for transmittal, various reference materials (i.e. fact sheets, press clippings, legal and regulatory texts, etc.), handwritten notes, memos, correspondence templates, and mail management directives and procedures for the Correspondence Unit of the Office of the Prime Minister.

The staff of the Correspondence Unit of the Office of the Prime Minister (i.e. Samy Khalid, Editor; Mark Stokes, Special Assistant - Correspondence; Belinda Kent, Manager - Correspondence) correspond with citizens, who usually thank them for addressing their queries and requests, and with the administrative staff of various departments, agencies, decision-making bodies and enterprises.

The archivist arranged the records in hierarchical order, based on the job titles of Unit staff. This is followed by a file on the electronic correspondence received by Prime Minister Chrétien.
