The two maps are mounted on linen and cut along panel fold lines to fit inside cover.

Part of the Alexander E. MacDonald Canadiana Collection purchased by the Public Archives of Canada in 1981.

Scales appear in geographical & Italian miles 60 to 1 degree; French terrestrial leagues 25 to 1 degree and English statue miles 69.16 to 1 degree.

Two maps are: Province of Canada (Western Sheet) -- Province of Canada (Eastern sheet ) New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Id., Cape Breton Id., and Newfoundland.

Maps appear to be from Keith Johnston's "Royal Atlas of Modern Geography: exhibiting in a series of entirely original and authentic maps, the present condition of geographical discovery and research in the several countries, empires, and states of the world".
