This series consists of the operational files created by the Ottawa liaison office of Western Economic Diversification, including executive committee and senior management files.

The Ottawa liaison office is headed by the Senior Assistant Deputy Minister who reports to the Deputy Minister. The Senior Assistant Deputy Minister is responsible for the administration of the department for including the provision of executive support services to the Minister; corporate support services including resource allocation, financial comptrollership and various professional services; internal audits and program evaluation; developing framework policies and regional industrial benefits associated with federal government procurement; and advocating western interests within the federal government by influencing federal policies and programs.
