One of a group of original cartoon drawings executed for Laurentian Publishing Ltd. publications "Northern Life" and "Northern Ontario Business," ca. 1980-1987. Some were likely produced for the "Sudbury Star." This cartoon depicts Bill James playing the violin in front of David Peterson who holds up a music sheet for James, with the title: "Over the Hill to the Poor House." James is dressed in tattered clothes with several notes in his pockets including one labelled: "Kidd Creek Mines Purchase." His hat is on the floor beside him labelled: "Falconbridge." A man in the background holds his hands over his ears and wears a tie labelled "E.M."
