Film made in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Massey-Harris agricultural machinery manufacturing company, which began in 1847. It traces the development and history of agricultural mechanization from 1847 to 1947. Included are the following: re-enactment of pioneer life in 1847; re-enactment of Hart Massey, founder of the Massey farm equipment business, making machinery for fellow farmers; various drawings of Massey-Harris factories; drawings and reproductions of early harvesting machines; Nova Scotia pioneers; covered bridge in Hartland, New Brunswick; harvesting of potato crop; re-enactment of life in Quebec circa the late 1800s or early 1900s; Niagara Falls and the fruit belt; Banff and Lake Louise; aboriginals; cowboy rodeo; scenes of the prairies; Massey-Harris manufacturing plants in Manchester, England; Massy-Harris equipment at work in Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, Africa, India, Australasia, Argentina, Mexico and the United States. President J. Duncan talks about company factories and plans for the future.
