It starts with the Speaker of the House of Commons, speaking in French, inviting Herb Gray to the chair on the floor of the chamber. Gray stands by the chair and the House of Commons applauds and cheers. Jean Chrétien then speaks in English and French. Other speakers include the leader of the Opposition, Gilles Duceppe, Lorne Nystrom and Joe Clark. Then Herb Gray addresses the House. He speaks about his House of Commons career and that he met Sharon, the woman he would marry, in Room 209 of the West Block, at a Young Liberal function.
