This television program examines the story of former NHL player Mike Danton, who was arrested by the FBI at the airport in San Jose, California on 16 April 2004 for plotting hire someone to kill his agent, David Frost. On 16 July 2004 Danton entered into a plea agreement. He pleaded guilty and did not testify. Danton's motives for paying someone $10,000 to kill Frost remain hidden. Even though he admitted to trying to have Frost killed, he contacted Frost after his arrest. The program plays a series of recorded jailhouse telephone conversations, revealing how Frost controlled Danton's words and actions, coaching him on how to deal with law enforcement officials, lawyers and psychologists. Reporter Bob McKeown traces this relationship back to Brampton, Ontario, when Frost met the 10-year-old Danton. At that time, Danton was still going by his family name of Mike Jefferson. Frost began exerting control over the boy who wanted to become an NHL player. The program also looks at Frost's career as a coach and agent. <1h>
