Collection search - Records on National Parks and Historic Sites, Atlantic Region [multiple media]

This accession consists of some administrative and a variety of operational records of what is now Parks Canada Agency, pertaining to national parks and historic sites across Atlantic Canada. Subjects include (but are not limited to): acquisition of local property (appraisals and purchase agreements); historical overviews of acquired properties; lettings and concessions for historical properties; and on-site incident reports and clippings of media coverage. Records include both original documents and duplicates, as well as site plans and technical drawings.

These records were created under the auspices of several predecessors of Parks Canada Agency, most notably branches and divisions within the following federal departments: the Department of Mines and Resources (1936 - 1947), and the Department of Resources and Development (1950 - 1953); the Department of Northern Affairs and National Resources (1953 - 1966); and the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, which was later renamed the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs (1966 - 1979).
