Series comprises files on Michael Oliver's MA and PhD theses dealing with French-Canadian nationalism, with correspondence about the theses with Andre Laurendeau and Pierre-Eliot Trudeau commenting on Oliver's work, and reflecting his connection with Cite Libre.
The correspondence portion itself is prefaced either by "personal", or, if it deals with a particular issue, by the issue title itself. For example, there are a number of files on "the Crowe Affair" at United College in Winnipeg in 1957-1958. The correspondence largely reflects Oliver's career as an academic (both professor and administrator, particularly President and Vice-Chancellor of Carleton ), as a political worker (with the NDP), and as a social activist, especially in his work with NGOs.
