Description:

Documentary about the importance of mystic women to the culture of the middle ages, and how their impact has lasted to present day. Hildegard of Bingen lived from 1098-1179, yet her poetry is still read, her music still played almost a millenium later. Women could only access the church through divinity, and as such, Hildegard believed she had a direct relationship with God. She was incredibly influential in her time, writing visionary works on a wide range of topics, and offering advice to prominent politicians. <47mn 30s>
