This photograph is one of a series taken by a staff photographer, Gar Lunney, working for the Still Photo Division of the National Film Board of Canada, and which show various Ottawa artist studios visited by the National Gallery Aassociation of Ottawa in 1959. See original NFB negative numbers 90638-90662.

Both the negative and the print of this photograph were transferred, along with many thousands of others, in 1965 to the Government of Canada Photo Commission, and in 1971 to Information Canada Photothèque.
