Bob Rock Productions Incorporated : Bob Rock Productions Inc., a production company based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, was established in 1993 by writer, producer and photographer Robert (Bob) Lawrence Rock as a sole proprietorship company. In 1994 Rock wrote the play/teleplay for The Missing Bell of Batoche, performed and recorded for television in 1996, and broadcast on CBC, CTV and SCN. Incorporated in August 2000 as Rob Rock Productions Inc., the company, with Rock as its creative force, has gone on to produce various productions including an interactive web-based project with an education companion CD-ROM entitled Mandela's Sash: Senator Boucher's Moment in Métis History. In 2001 the company was granted funding for Phase I work on Petite Marie: A Ferry Tale, a Métis-cultural animation, television series/web based convergence project aimed at a "tweens" and a family oriented audience. Petite Marie was re-edited and re-aligned in 2004 for a dramatic television series with an attendant, new media convergence component, and will soon be published in book version in French, English and Michif. In 2003 Bob Rock Productions Inc. managed the pre-producing, producing and post-production aspects of the documentary television program Mandela's Sash, based on the script as written by Rock earlier that same year. Rock is currently writing, producing and directing a half-hour television program called Vikings to Métis: Orkney-Canada Connections to be broadcast on the Saskatchewan Communications Network (SCN) as part of the Saskatchewan Centennial/Homecoming Series. The half-hour program is designed as a precursor to a feature-length documentary. In addition, Rock is developing Buffalo Hump and Tea in hopes that it will become a national television series. Awards include the 1997 National Gold CANPRO Award for the play/teleplay entitled The Missing Bell of Batoche.
