This medal was forwarded to the Public Archives of Canada by the office of the Adjutant-General at the request of the Assistant to the Dominion Archivist, Norman Fee, on June 12, 1951.

Dates of creation note:

The start date is based on information found in "Campaign Stars and The Defence Medal" published in May 1945 by the Committee on the Grant of Honours Decorations and Medals in Time of War. The end date marks the transfer of this particular specimen to the Public Archives of Canada.
