A distant view of the Military prison erected on Melville Island, Northwest Arm, Halifax, during the Napoleonic Wars to keep French Prisoners-of-War. A copy of a very similar watercolour may be found in the Thompson Album (Acc. No. 1949-18), page 6, bottom, by an unknown artist, Folio 42 removed from William S. Saunders Album (see acc. 1985-52).
