Album contains snapshots of Nelles friends and family, as well as photos of DH Nelles as a young man before his surveying activities.

Album documents surveying work during 1904 and 1905, including views of hunting, fishing and other aspects of camp life. The surveying work is also depicted, with images of peaks, locations of boundary posts and triangulation stations captured.

Album also includes photographs of activities at a Fernie, BC logging camp, railroad survey near Cardiff (ON?), and Trent Canal survey.

Note on the state of conservation:

Album cover - inside cover page of both the front and back cover are no longer adhered to the cover; binding is in relatively good condition

Album pages - musty smell; the pages appear to have actually gotten wet at some point - a rippling effect is present, but overall the pages are still in good shape; one page appears to have been cut out (half of it) and then taped back in; the white ink used to write captions is and often illegible

Prints - some of the prints are lifting, but not in danger of falling off; many prints are silvering and/or fading and some are torn or appear to have water damage
