Description:

THE REPUBLIC OF LOVE explores many of the issues that face contemporary lovers. Tom is a talk show host whose callers reveal the pains and joys of their relationships. Fay, who works at the Folklore Museum, is researching mermaids and getting out of a stale relationship. When Fay and Tom, who live in the same apartment block, finally meet, the baggage they bring into the relationship triggers the big question : Is s/he "the one"? However, when Fay is dealt an unexpected blow it forces her to reconsider their relationship and although she is crushed and Tom is devastated, she remains resolute.
