This is a Pathé comedy short about a girl named Patricia, whose wedding date is Friday the 13th. She is going to marry Jimmy Jump, an automobile salesman, who has only 30 minutes off work to get married. Her rejected suitor is shown, "fired" for telling too many mother-in-law jokes. Jimmy fixes a slingshot for a boy, who uses the slingshot to knock off Jimmy's hat. Patricia greets Jimmy. Jimmy says "tough luck" to the rejected suitor. His boss intercepts the couple while they are on their way to get the marriage license and get married, and asks Jimmy to take a car to show a prospective customer, the mayor. Patricia waits by the roadside as he calls "just a minute, dear" and drives past her during the road test. The Mayor asks his wife Caroline to accompany them on the test drive and they drive past Patricia on a street corner, as Jimmy calls out again and again, "just a minute, dear". Then the Mayor asks the whole family, including the family dog and the little boy with the slingshot to go on the ride. The family goes on a picnic, the boy causes a tire puncture, Patricia sits dejectedly on a curb downtown, Jimmy tries to fix the car, he spanks the boy, Jimmy manages to fix the car, Jimmy and the family return home, the mayor decides against buying the car, Jimmy returns the now beaten-up car to his boss and gets fired, he can't find Patricia and then spots her outside the registry office just married to the former suitor, and the mayor and his family turn up in a more expensive car. <12mn 19s>
