Description:

Television program featuring interviews with Pierre Théberge, Director, Canadian Museum of Fine Arts; Jack Silverstone, lawyer for the Canadian Jewish Congress; Matthew Teitelbaum, Director, Art Gallery of Ontario; Vera Gara, Holocaust survivor. Through questions, interviewer determines that the Canadian Museum of Fine Arts possesses 110 paintings of unknown providence. It is suspected that at least some of those works may have been stolen by the Nazis during the years prior to and including the Second World War, and had later been acquired by art dealers. The interviewees opine on the fate of these paintings and the intricacies of the laws surrounding Nazi-plundered art.
