Description:

A documentary that examines new evidence that Parkinson's Disease (PD) - a silent epidemic that affects more than one million North Americans, with more than 60,000 new cases diagnosed each year - may not be a disease at all. When Michael J. Fox, along with three other members of the crew working on the series "LEO AND ME", were mysteriously diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, researchers in Canada and the U.S. found evidence that PD is more like a brain injury or wound caused by viral attacks, environmental toxin or even a virus-like the flu. Some researchers believe that stem cell therapy can potentially stop or even reverse the damage, but it is yet to be proven and the moral and ethical implications of stem cell therapy must be taken into consideration as well. <45mn 31s>
