The film talks of the 715 head which were sold to Canada in 1917 and the establishment of Wood Buffalo National Park to preserve a habitat for the animal and allow its numbers to increase before an outbreak of bovine tuberculosis ravaged the herd. Eventually, the size of the herd grew, and once again people were allowed to hunt the giant grazers. Allen Garson of the Globe and Mail became the first person in 66 years to hunt the buffalo for sporting purposes. <51mn 46s>Language:EnglishDetailed holdings information: -
