A tribute by the Polish Film and Photographic Association to the memory of General Sikorski. Slow sequence on English villages, buildings, ruined castles, cemeteries with Polish names on the crosses and General Sikorski dedicating a cemetery. Cut to the funeral of the general. Flash back to Warsaw in ruins, to famous Poles, Paderewski and General himself speaking in Polish (with English subtitles). Sequence on the General's efforts towards a Polish army in exile in France. With the fall of France, the General arrives in England and is met by Prime Minister Churchill. He is shown inspecting a guard of honour. Sequence on his work in Russia and the consequences of his devotion to the cause: a Polish army is formed, refugees flock back homes and families are reunited. General Sikorski is shown visiting with Polish troops in the Middle East. There is a mention of Gibraltar where the General died; then cut to his funeral attended by Churchill and other famous personalities. Final montage of Polish fighting men in the various services. <10mn 17s>
