Public forum community cable television program. The "bear pit" format is used to educate and involve an amphitheater audience by presenting citizen interviews, statements or talent before the viewing public. On this program, host William Ronald presents: singer/musicians, Jim Watson and Wayne Forst; Toba Littmann making an announcement about emergency meetings in Toronto synagogues to rally Jewish community support for Israel; Dita Pavolis making an announcement about the Parents Coop Day Care Center's need for space in the downtown area; Father Gregory Baum making a statement regarding the treatment of political prisoners in South Vietnam, and regarding the state of the Catholic Church in Canada; Phyllis Yeast, a 20-year-old Jamaican girl, dancing to the music of her recording entitled, "One More Chance"; and the injustice and poverty suffered under Ontario's welfare system is discussed by Mrs. Petrie, a welfare recipient, and Mike Carson, President of the Ontario Anti-Poverty Organization. The audience of young people generally voices disdain for welfare recipients. Mr. Carson also talks about the Ontario Anti-Poverty Coalition. <55mn>
