Proceedings from the Liberal Party of Canada (LPC) National Convention held between 4 and 6 July 1980 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Recording begins with an Information Session on the Financial Organization of the LPC.~Follows with a question and answer session with Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau and Federal Cabinet Ministers. Cabinet members in attendance include Hazen Argue, Lloyd Axworthy, Monique Bégin, Jean-Jacques Blais, Pierre [Busiel], Jean Chrétien, Paul Cosgrove, Pierre Débane, Judy Erola, James Fleming, Francis Fox, Herb Gray, Donald Johnston, Robert Caplan, Marc Lalonde, Gilles Lamontagne, Charles Lapointe, Roméo LeBlanc, Ed Lumley, Mark McGuigan, John Monroe, Bud Olson, Jean-Luc Pépin, Ray Perrault, Yvon Pinard, Gerald Regan, John Roberts, William Rompkey, and Eugene Whalen.~Convention continues with an LPC Accountability Session in which delegates ask questions of the LPC National Executive regarding their party's activities.~Follows with a Plenary Session considering the publication, in one document, of a statement of Liberal Party history, purposes, and policy principles for the 1980s. Resolutions are limited to each provincial and territorial association presenting three resolutions to be of top priority, for that province, with the Women and Youth Commissions presenting one resolution each.~The election of officers of the National Executive follows. Speeches for the post of LPC President are delivered by Norman MacLeod, Martin [McConnell], and Giuseppe [Pellitteri]. <8h>
