A short film which features the many different varieties of flowers which are developed and grown in the Macoun Memorial Garden at the Central Experimental Farm in Ottawa. Among the many early season flowers featured in this film are the eranthis hymalis, crocus susianus, corcus chrysanthus, Madame Mina and several varieties of scilla. Also featured is film footage of the bloodroot plant, hepilica, chionodoxa, forsythia ovata, viburnum carlessi, cylisus beanii, drabas, viola rothamagensis, anemones and many varieties of tulips. The Macoun border contains daffodils, primula macrocalyx, trilliums and other varieties of flora. Later in the season several varieties of the Siberian Iris comes into bloom including the Mattawin, Gatineau and the Pembina. Also featured are several rose bushes which have been developed at the farm including the Orinda, Orange Glory and the Gipsy Lass. Day lilies and the peony collection become an attraction for visitors in late June and the water lilies bloom during the month of July. The film also features footage of the Countess of Bessboro and the Ella Sutherland, chrysanthemums developed at the Central Experimental Farm, along with shots of several building located at the farm, including the William Saunders Building, the Horticultural Building on Elm Avenue and the Prescott Circle. <54mn>
