Recording consists of original sound rolls used in the production of the documentary film THE LEARNING PATH. Recording includes an interview with Eva Cardinal, Edmonton elder and liaison worker for the Edmonton Public School Board. Interview is recorded during Cardinal's first return to Blue Quills, a mission residential school for native children, located in Edmonton, Alberta, attended by Cardinal as a child. Cardinal recalls her experiences as a young student at Blue Quills.~Interview with Eva Cardinal is followed by an interview with Theresa Cardinal who speaks of the current mandate of Blue Quills First Nations College, programs offered at the College, Native education, and her experiences as a young student at Blue Quills mission residential school. <1h 7mn>

1. Tape speed is 7 ½ ips.~2. Tape labels identify title as "The Learning World", the original working title. THE LEARNING PATH is the final release title.~3. THE LEARNING PATH is one of a five-part documentary series entitled AS LONG AS THE RIVERS FLOW.~4. Segments of the recording contain "wild" noise interspersed with the interview.~5. Recording for 21 January 1991 begins midway through sound reel 53, and is preceded by a Native awareness lesson taught by Eva Cardinal to students at Lorelei School on 17 January 1991. See ISN 340998 for description.~7. Interview with Theresa Cardinal begins midway through sound reel 56.
