Recording consists of original sound rolls used in the production of the documentary film THE LEARNING PATH. Recording includes an oral history interview with Olive Dickason, Edmonton elder and Professor of Native History at the University of Alberta. Subjects discussed include Dickason's early childhood memories, her experiences growing up in the bush, her first job as a news reporter, her experiences as a single mother of three children, returning to school to obtain her Master's and PhD, her PhD thesis, and pursuing her doctoral research.~Interview with Dickason follows with an interview/discussion between Dickason and lawyer Victor Leginsky on the subject of mandatory retirement, Native cultures and respect for elders, and the impact of industrialization and commercialization on Native communities. <2h 15mn>
