Amateur film footage shot in the James Bay region of northern Ontario. Footage includes: intertitle which reads, "Summer in James Bay. Sponsored by the Indian Affairs Branch, Ottawa, this 3 months trip over 3000 miles was made by plane, schooner, canoe and rail in order to study the dental conditions of the Indians of the great bay. Here is a typical Norther Ontario bush. Fires has destroyed a large area". A shot of a train travelling in a wilderness area, landscape damaged by fire, intertitle reads "At Nakina, our plane is made ready by a well known Northland 'bush pilot'". Shot of a plane parked at a dock, a group of men beside the plane, the plane taking-off from lake, aerial shot of land, intertitle which reads "Flying between 4000 and 8000 feet we see far below us lakes and rivers of the vast unexplored hinterland", aerial shots of area, intertitle reads, "Ogoki, an isolated Indian camping place on the Albany River, 250 miles west of James Bay is in sight", aircraft landing on the river, intertitle reads, "The Chief, some hunters, and Father Ouimet an Oblate, at Ogoki", group shot of Father Ouimet, and the Chief with others, intertitle reads, "The Birth of a Smile, Little Baby Chief in a moss lined bag held by his mother", shot of baby, intertitle reads, "Springtime in Moose Factory, James Bay", shot of budding trees. <3mn 37s>
