A program in a five-part series of documentaries about twentieth century history to 1950, focusing on five major themes: world affairs; science; leisure; power; and the home. Included are sound recordings made by famous people. This program examines such topics as Great Britain's relations with India and South Africa, the Battle of Jutland and the Russian Revolution. There are voice clips of President Taft on the right to strike, President Woodrow Wilson on the government's policy of paternalism towards American Indians and Professor Arnold Toynbee's comparison of the ideologies of Trotsky and Stalin. <1h>~This program looks at such topics as Great Britain's relations with India and South Africa; the Battle of Jutland during the Boer War; the Russian Revolution; and the men who influenced them.~There are voice clips of President Robert Taft on the right to strike, President Woodrow Wilson on the government's policy of paternalism towards American Indians, and Professor Arnold Toynbee's comparison of Trotsky and Stalin's ideologies and the future of Russia. <1h>
