Turtle Mountain, or the Turtle Mountains, is an area in the north-central portion of North Dakota and southwestern portion of Manitoba, approximately 100 km south of the city of Brandon. Due to the abundance of game and shelter from the elements, the mountains were a favorite wintering spot for the First Nation and Métis peoples.
