This image appears to cast Whitecap into the role of captivity. His clothing is ragged and his face is downcast
This is also supported by the appearance of a weight and heavy chain in the lower left side of the image
Whitecap also shares the album page with an image of Cree leader Piapot (Pi-a-pot)
Piapot (Pi-a-pot) is juxtaposed as a warrior in full control of his future, the hostile warrior
Two of Whitecap's sons were captured during the Riel Rebellion, 1885
