The film was re-released in 1929 with dialogue sequences, music and sound effects track added. Many scenes were re-shot.~4. Assuming that Rupert Julian is the creator of this film, this material is out of copyright as Julian died in 1943.~6. Based on the book by Gaston Leroux.
