Folk songs are heard over the soundtrack.~There's footage of the ruins of Fort Louisbourg, of Acadian rug-making, of the town of Lunenburg, of fishing, of shipbuilding, of manual potato harvesting, of the Caledonia Games held in Antigonish and of coal miners in Cape Breton. Church-goers mill around and fraternize in a rural Scottish community. A Gaelic Church choir responds to a leader's singing prayer. Cape Breton school children are singing in Gaelic and dancing the Scottish jig. A bag-piper dressed in the traditional clan tunic plays a tune. Rythmic singing (in Gaelic) is employed at a gathering to help mill homespun - the group promotes the shrinkage of the material by collectively rolling it back and forth along a long table's width.Language:EnglishNotes:Detailed holdings information: -
