D. Thompson presented report and map to the Governor General on 10 March 1842, who in turn referred it to the Board of Works to report on the information contained.
The route on the map follows the Muskako River (now Musquash and South Muskoka rivers) through Muskako Second, Third and Forked lakes (now Muskoka, Rousseau, Joseph and Lek of Bays).
