Description:

An experimental video / poem carrying the theme of separation, political borders and social boundaries which prevent women from loving women. The piece features poignant performances by Brinda Sarathy and Shaleena Theophilus who play lovers kept apart by Canada's immigration policies. One woman has a map painted on her body in which Canada is fused with India illustrating her history "born in the South, raised in the North." The other has rejection stamps tattooed onto her body reflecting the personal and invasive effect of the North's domination over the South "dictating who, where and how we love".~Set to evocative images and music, the poem unfolds charting the journey of these two women and their victory through imagining "borderless countries in a countryless world". <6mn 51s>
