Interview of George Patton, former director of the Ontario Motion Picture Bureau. Patton talks about various bureau films such as BARN RAISING; THE EUROPEAN CORN BORER; CULLING HENS and CINDERELLA OF THE FARMS. He also talks about Ontario Premier Mitchell Hepburn's closing the bureau in 1934, Colonel John Cooper, the films SOMEONE AT HOME and LITTLE GRAY DOORS, John French, various people who worked on bureau films, Edgar Stone, the bureau's library of still photographs and lantern slides, the Pathescope Company of Canada Limited and its making films for the Ontario government, the making of a film about the Hollinger mine, Harry Blake, the trip Patton made to England with Bertram Bach to make films there for the bureau, Hart House Theatre, Gordon Sparling, Colonel William F. Clarke and the company Cranfield and Clarke, Bruce Bairnsfather, CARRY ON SERGEANT, the quality of 28mm films, Samuel L. Roxy Rothapfel, George Brownridge, the adoption of sound by the bureau, the film HIGHWAY SAFETY, sound films, THE ADVENTURES OF GEO. S. FISHOG [sic], various other films; Roy Tash and his work on a bureau film about the corn borer parasite, cameramen George Rutherford, Bertram Bach, Charlie Quick, George Bastier, Mervyn LaRue and Mike Shiels, and the lack of production credits on bureau films. <1h 35mn>
