Sequence on the Empress of Japan at pier in Vancouver harbour, leaving wharf, sailing out to sea. Various shots of Vancouver harbour in background as the Empress sails west through the Lion's Gate before the bridge was built. Series of sequences on the incomplete Lion's Gate Bridge, men at work on catwalks, on decking, etc., as seen from varous angles and distances. Sequence on men in business suits visiting high on the catwalks, chatting, looking at the sights. Several views of Vancouver harbour from the unfinished bridge, Capilano River, Empress ships sailing by. One shot was taken from directly above a passing ship. A CPR Princess ship sails by underneath. Cut to shot of figurehead of the original Empress of Japan in Stanley Park. Pan of Vancouver from top of one of the towers.
