Television public affairs program hosted by Eric Malling, Adrienne Clarkson and Bob McKeown. 1. TWO FACES A look at another side of life in Miami, Florida - a side not seen in the tourist brochures. The problems of violent crime, impoverished immigrant ghettos, and a flourishing traffic in narcotics are discussed in a series of interviews with tourists, residents, the mayor of Miami, police officers and local businessmen. The extent of Miami's social problems are highlighted in footage of Mark Massie, a Canadian murdered in Miami during a robbery attempt; the crowded and lawless slum of "Little Havana"; a gang-land assassination; numerous ships involved in drug smuggling; and luxurious homes protected by guard dogs and electronic surveillance. 2. PRECIOUS FRIENDS Report on the secret business arrangements between the Soviet Union and South Africa involving the buying and selling of gold and diamonds inspite of the Soviet Union's public condemnation of the South African government. Includes interviews with John Osmond, Moscow correspondant for the BBC, and Anthony Robinson of the Financial Times who discuss the presence in Moscow of South African diamond traders and mining company executives. Also interviewed are a Russian diplomat; Timothy Green, author of "The World of Diamonds"; and a South African diamond merchant. Noteworthy footage of South African and Russian diamond mines; Ernest Oppenheimer, chairman of South Africa's Anglo American Corp.; and the Sharpeville riots in South Africa. 3. LAND RICH/FARM POOR From Alberta a report on the depressed farm economy and rising farm bankruptcies. In a series of interviews Alberta farmers discuss their financial plight caused by rising production cost for machinery, fertilizer and credit loans and falling farm prices for wheat and other grains. 4.
