Social Credit Party presentation held at the Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton, Alberta, in celebration of the 35th anniversary of the 1935 Alberta provincial election campaign victory by William Aberhart, leader of the Alberta Social Credit Party. Track one: introductory remarks by Alfred John Hooke, one of the members of the party elected in Alberta in 1935 and subsequently a cabinet minister there. This is followed by a speech of welcome by MLA Romeo Lamothe and greetings from Social Credit representatives from various provinces, including J. Martin Hattersley, Fern D. Marion, Mr. Thauberger, Len Albanese and Gilbert Rondeau. Track 2: speech by Réal Caouette and closing remarks by Hooke. Track 3: Hooke recites a poem he composed. Track 4: Illustrated lecture by Hooke entitled It Happened in 1935, on the election victory in 1935 and the era of William Aberhart. This includes the showing of slides of Social Credit Party campaign posters or banners used in the 1935 election campaign. Next is the playing of excerpts of speeches by Aberhart. Hooke then introduces Caouette. Various songs, including Social Credit Party songs in English and French, are heard at intervals during the recording.
