Film shows points of interest in Stratford, Ontario. The film opens with shots of the natural scenery which surrounds the town along the banks of the Avon River. Many locations and citizens in the city are shown: the Public Utilities Commission; a market day; the business district; road building and repair; stately homes, including that of Provincial Treasurer J.D. Monteith; city churches; the Y.M.C.A.; the Majestic movie theatre; the Stratford Beacon-Herald and its staff; the general hospital and nurses' home; the court house and publc library. Several successful businesses are shown: the C.N.R. locomotive repair shop, both inside and outside; Grosch Felt Shoe Co. Ltd.; McLagan Furniture Company; Stillman's Snow White Dairy; and, the Stratford Creamery. Aerial shots are used to display the beauty of both city and countryside. The film displays a variety of winter activities: cutter racing; the first annual Y.M.C.A. Dog Derby; hockey games; horseshoe and sleighing parties; curling. Activities in the city's schools are also shown: May Day festivities at the Normal School; an outdoor Shakespearian presentation by the Dramatic Society; children walking and bicycling away from Stratford Collegiate; a school fire drill, including firemen and engines. Other city sports activities shown are a soccer game between Fergus and Stratford, horseback riding, and golfing. The film concludes with shots of the scenic Avon riverbank. <30mn>
