A DATE WITH A TANK begins with footage of guns being tested. An idea gets developed into a blueprint the craftsmen use to build the gun. Next is a dramatization. The camera cuts to a door that says "Military Intelligence 301 Col. J.S. Templeton D.S.O.". Two men discuss a new heavy tank that has already begun to take shape within enemy hands. The scene cuts to a boardroom where Allies speak of making their own new and powerful gun. Interspersed are images of making the new gun with a countdown on the screen that counts the number of days that both sides use to make their guns. Offscreen narrator explaining and questioning when the gun will be ready. An intertitle explains the first use of the allied gun, and the Mareth Line, March 6th, 1943. The conclusion shows footage of the enemy's tank versus the Allies' powerful stationary gun. Newspaper-clippings tell how useful guns are to the war effort. <15mn>Language:EnglishNotes:Detailed holdings information: -
