It shows: Pearson talking to reporters in corridors in the House of Commons; Pearson going into his office with appointments secretary Jim Coutts and press secretary Richard O'Hagan; Mr. [Frazier] seeing Pearson in his office; Coutts on the telephone; Coutts and secretary Mary Macdonald talking about Pearson running behind schedule; several people outside Pearson's office, waiting to see him; Coutts working on arrangements for trip to Cleveland; man on phone talking about Ontario election results; Mr. Metcalfe and Pearson talking about Ontario election; Macdonald talking to Pearson about his agenda; policy adviser Tom Kent talking to Pearson about a televised speech and the use by John Diefenbaker of television to stir up opposition; Coutts working on his schedule and Pearson leaving the office. Next, Coutts is in a car and talking about the following: Allan MacEachen; Pearson; the dock workers' strike; what Pearson will talking about in his speech; Coutts' belief that Pearson should model himself on John F. Kennedy's image; how John Diefenbaker fooled the voters; the need for Pearson to be honest about unemployment and other problems; his belief that Pearson should make three or four major addresses a year; and his platform.
